There was a man living in an ancient dynasty (a valiant general used to drive a mighty force), he lived by an most ancient profession (controlled by an illegal multinational trade group) in this modern city. This profession needed no educational background, no language but only a robust body, and the dynasty, country or human race was not limited.

Soon after, the man broke away from this illegal multinational group. The oldest disguise surgery helped him to get rid of the chase easily.

It was said that he was the last ancient man in the world.

At night, the man stood on a bridge in the city, watching the river rolling down. Traffic stream behind him was like a moving scene. High rises at both sides of the river stretched without an end, sprinkled with starry neon lights, brilliant and colorful, like the boundless galaxies in the Milky Way. The man felt as if be in a wonderland, he could only let his thoughts flowing around, threw himself to the present, the past world and all the details of (these) those things he acquired. For a moment, he even had some kind of illusion that space-time dimension of past, present and future is paralleled to him.

The man always stood like this, sleepless all night.

One morning, the man set off for some site of the city (he was to make a round or conquer some domain). He had no horse, no armor, a bus would bring him to some destination.

It was a sunny day.
The man walked on the street in some block of the city. He was wandering aimlessly, went around, weaved his way through the strange crowds.

Afterwards, somewhere at the street, the man stopped, he stood still.

He spotted a girl in the rushing crowd,

The man stood nearby, watched at the girl.
She was slight and delicate, with infantile purity in her fair and clear face. Dressed in a light dress, her rhythmic movements danced the flare. A pair of white velvet wings stretched at her back.

The girl was delivering flyers.

Nobody cared the girl’s flyers in the stream of people. The white wings at her back were squeezed by the shuttling passersby. Some people showed their contempt to the flyer and walked away when some others took it over and had a careful read. The man just stood nearby silently, watching quietly to all what was going on.

The man walked straight to the girl, passed close to her when she handed a flyer to him. He accepted it spontaneously. He could hear the whispering “Thanks” from her.

He understood no words in the flyer but only recognized some images, letters and numbers.(Is this flyer an oracle? Revelation? Or just earthbound human icons and symbols)

Again, the man pasted the girl, another flyer was moved to the man’s hand. When the man received the flyer, his hand had a gentle touch to the girl’s. Two strange bodies in this stran ge place got contact with each other. The man’s attention was draw from the flyer to the girl’s fair white hand and her movement of drawing back - taking another flyer.

Hereafter, the man walked up and down, constantly repeated the movement.
Then, he repeated it time and time again.

Finally, most of the girl’s flyers were passed to the man’s hand.
(Actually, the girl didn’t even look at this man in the face.)The man stood at the street where the girl was standing before, continued passing out flyers.

The city dusk was fast approaching, when the story had just begun.

THE TRUE STORY:

Text:Frank Gerlitzki

Nobody has to know (how/like it really was)

The museum of fragments and episodes presents artefacts of the real and/or imaginary life of Frank Gerlitzki: fragments of a curriculum, a manipulated biography completed by complete strangers.

A generation of thoughts, signs, objects- a reflection about reality, imagination, manipulation...

After his move to China, Frank Gerlitzki began a reflection of his life. Discovering old documents, thoughts written down, signs, pictures, objects and artefacts, he wasn't able to situate in time anymore, unable to connect them with the related details such as names, anecdotes and episodes. This made him doubt about the true reality of some of these fragments and memories.

Nothing was fixed, everything was in movement-he was unable to document his own precise reality. So he decided to let his resume free, let his biography flow, let it generate itself.

Pushing this development to its extreme, he abandoned its control and left its faith to the hands of complete strangers: his public, who were asked to participate to complete the museum's collection. Finally the "Frank Gerlitzki Museum" tells us more about ourselves and the public than about the artist.

As in all serious museum, guided tours are offered, an eminent foreign specialist of the artist's life gives detailed informations about the exhibition - a simultaneous translation gives it even more importance.

“The true art-gallery”

“chapter 5: from her to eternity”,整理好的图片张贴在墙壁上,以一条直线的形式延伸。Frank邀请参观者“please feel free to complete the story”(请自由的完成这个故事)。
