佩斯北京将于5月20日隆重为其艺术家张洹举办展览，名为《放虎归山》。这是艺术家在北京的首次个展，其主题经过了2年多的酝酿，是艺术家首次呈现以生态平衡为表现题材的展览。展品主要以香灰画为主，黑白的画面中隐含了绿色的契机，沉寂的灰烬下迸发出生机的碰撞。作品凭借探讨数千年来人类发展过程中与自然生态间的抗衡，为观者带来颇为震撼，甚至近乎残酷的感悟。
作为国际上最具活力与影响力的当代艺术家之一，张洹2006年回国创建上海工作室后，其艺术创作也开始更多地关注作品的材料性。近一两年张洹更活跃于世界各文化舞台，2009年还开创了首次由艺术家担当舞台歌剧导演的先河。继年初成功地在上海及台北举办个展后，作为艺术家首个北京个展，《放虎归山》无疑为2010年春季增添了无限期待。
