作为一个研究项目，“我不在美学的进程里–再谈行为”试图从双重意义上讨论和反思行为艺术中美学的过度在场和不在场。这是一次既关于行为、关于媒介，又不仅仅限于行为和媒介讨论的讨论，它把美学与媒介的关系放置在微观和“静止”的历史视野中考察，试图呈现与艺术家创作并行的视角，而不是纠缠于这些创作在之前的美学进程中出于不同原因所扮演的角色。在承认艺术家面对自身文化、知识、身份和传统时的焦虑感以及针对这种焦虑所做的不同尝试的前提下，“我不在美学的进程里”希望发问的是批评话语的准确度和与艺术的距离，考量艺术批评发问自身的能力。无论是被美学话语所刻画过的英雄形象，还是无法被现有美学话语消化和反思的艺术家实践，都同样可能在这一非美学的美学探讨里，遭遇可能的远离和切近。

星空间是专注于中国年轻艺术家推广、传播的艺术机构，通过展览、出版及艺术授权等多种业务，力求打造与年轻艺术家共同成长的可持续发展平台。自2005年成立以来，星空间与众多新锐艺术家缔结了紧密的合作关系。2013年4月，星空间全新开启七棵树空间。空间位于朝阳区七棵树创意园内，拥有600平米展览空间，旨在为年轻策展人及艺术家提供更具试验性的实践空间。

As a research project, I’m Not Involved In Aesthetic Progress: A Rethinking of Performance will attempt to approach a dual notion of presence and absence of aesthetics within the excessive discourses revolving around performance art. This is at the same time both about performance and its medium, but conversely it is also a discussion that attempts to go beyond the confines of its present discourse. It will place a study of its aesthetics and the medium from the perspective of a history of ‘microcosm’ and ‘inactivity’. By drawing parallels to the creative practices of artists, the research will avoid being entangled in different roles creative practices have played in existing aesthetic discourses. This research recognizes the anxieties these artists face and the different attempts to negotiate their own cultural background, knowledge, identity, and other conventional forms. The aim of I’m Not Involved In Aesthetic Progress is to raise questions about the accuracy of critical discourse and the distance to art, in addition to raising questions considering its own criticality.

Star Gallery’s mission is the propagation and popularization of young Chinese artists’ work. Through exhibitions, publications, and licensing, the gallery does its utmost to create a sustainable platform through which it can grow together with young artists. Since its establishment in 2005, Star Gallery has worked closely with a number of cutting-edge artists. April 13th, Star Gallery will hold the first exhibition in Qikeshu Space. The space located in The Qikeshu Creative Park, Chaoyang District, has 600 square meters of exhibition hall.
