Who pays the hidden costs of growth?
This exhibition explores in detail the pressures put on individuals, families and communities through different artistic mediums, and from local and foreign artist’s perspectives. From recent scandals to ever present problems, the artist unique approach tells us for once in a while to take a deep breath and consider where we currently stand.
发展的代价，谁来支付？
许多领域的飞速发展对个体、家庭和社区生活形成了很大的压力。该展览从本地和外国艺术家的角度，通过不同艺术媒介详细探讨了发展的隐性成本。从最近的丑闻到存在许久的问题，艺术家以独特的方式告诉我们时不时要做个深呼吸，想一想自己所在的位置。
The exhibition presents:
Daniele Mattioli’s(It) -A photographic collection of individuals as they search for their other life and identity in the guise of different characters
Wang Lin(CN) – A series of charcoal sketches highlighting the contradictory nature of certain products in modern day China - the damaged caused by a forced expansion of society- What is Next?
Sha Qin(CN) – A collection of fabric jewels of Chinese “Street Pop Icons”: purveying the 3 stages of “collecting” diamonds - destruction, development and speculation.
Zane Mellupe(LV)- An illusion of belonging in a semi-layered light medium - the acceptance of yourself in an alien society and the society’s acceptance of you.
Lei Hua(CN)- An conceptual artwork depicting mankind’s ingrained capacity for cruelty where the material chosen reflects the conclusion.
Rose Tang(CN)- A photographic piece depicting an external damage caused to an entity. Are we a product of a society?
Juris Podnieks(LV) - levitation above the earthy rush
Krišs Salmanis(LV) exploring two meanings of "identity" - 'the quality that makes one different from another' and also 'close similarity'.
Virginie Lerouge Knight’s(FR)- classical beauty bust is questioning the weight and balance of domestic family responsibilities.
