如果有人说你是只猴子，你也许会不高兴，但你终究是一种动物，难道不是吗？不管你多么聪明，多么高雅，你本质上是只“裸猿”——没毛的猿——难道不能这么说吗？没毛的猿和有毛的猿表面不一样，其实很相像。当你知道人是“裸猿”，你该如何看待自已？又该如何看待你周围大群大群的“裸猿们”呢？

站台中国将于2009年8月29日推出金闪个展《裸猿》。金闪以其艺术家敏锐的直觉，将世界非理性的图景视觉抛在我们面前。但是观看他的作品带给我们的却是日常生活中明明感受到却不敢言说的真实，那种人与人之间冷漠，人对人欲望窥视后的恐惧，人和人在这个建在钢丝绳上的游乐场上痴迷的狂舞，毫无遮掩的涌入我们沉睡着的脑海。金闪应用了“裸猿”这个曾被英国著名动物学家和人类行为学家德斯蒙德•莫里斯所使用过的语言，寓意着他将以艺术的方式对人类社会被表层所掩盖的原始风貌做一次无情的而又超越理性的显露。

If someone says you are a monkey, you might be unhappy, but you are, after all, an animal, right? No matter how smart and elegant you are, you are essentially only a "naked ape" – an ape without hair – can’t we say so? It is actually very similar between a naked ape and a hairy ape. When you know man is "naked ape", how do you see yourself? And how do you see the large crowd "naked apes” around you?

Platform China Contemporary Art Institute is pleased to hold Jin Shan Solo Show - Naked Ape on the 29th August 2009.

Jin Shan uses his keen artistic intuition, throws out the world's non-rational visual pictures in front of us. However, what brings to us while watching his works is the truth that we do not dare to speak out but deeply felt in our everyday life. The emotionless between people, the horror after peeping at each other’s desires, and people’s crazy dances at the playground that is built on a wire rope are all pouring into our deeply slept mind. Naked Ape is the word that be quoted by Jin Shan from British famous zoologist and human ethologist Desmond Morris. The artist uses the way of art to make a merciless but over-rational expression to the original truth of human society that has been overshadowed by the surface.
