萨拉·巴克（Sara Barker）个展“在地里的一个弱点”（a weak spot in the earth）日前在伦敦The Approach画廊举行。

萨拉·巴克（Sara Barker）的艺术实践横跨并模糊了雕塑、油画与素描之间的界限；她使用了这些创作媒介，以及与之相关的各种材料与技术，并以此来创造有实体的及哲学意义上的空间。萨拉·巴克（Sara Barker）从现代主义及后现代主义作家（并主要是女权主义的）那里汲取了创作灵感。例如Aya Kōda的小说《镜子》（Mirrors）就为艺术家新近构思的视觉诗歌提供了首个段落。此外，小说里的文字贯穿于整个展览中，它们被分解并被“分配”成了展览本身以及展出的每一件作品的名字，引导我们有节奏地穿过由诗歌营造出来的心理空间。

将这首诗用作一种渠道，展出作品描绘了与自然相连接的情感上的细微差别与微妙之处。在展出的这组新作中，在于三维空间里呈现其本身的素描与色彩鲜艳的二维表面之间存在一种张力。这些雕塑的金属部分开始形成各种各样的形状，也许是字母、字符或是其它的符号；假想的半绘画式的表面与标志物的结合变得具有讽喻味道了。语言为视觉做补充，最终结合成了一幅完整的画面。
